A group of leading educationist, professionals and philanthropists in their quest for becoming the architects of change, embarked on an educational journey with a single aim of creating a society which could evolve an educational system to prepare future managers and professionals who are morally sound. Future managers who have immense strength of character, wisdom and capacity to face the impact of emerging global challenges and walk abreast with and ahead of the world. With this vision, Shri Nandlal Memorial Educational Society (SNMES) was established in the year 1997.

The society has undertaken multifarious activities for the promotion of education and social service. It is committed to promote and regulate Basic and Professional Education including Business Management, Computer Applications, Hotel Management, Food and Catering Technology, Pharmaceutical and Allied Sciences, Biotechnology and Engineering. The society aims at creating knowledge centres in the field of Education, Training, Research and Consultancy.

With the view to impart education in an audible manner, the society established Ram Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (RIHMCT) at Dehradun in the year 1998 as its first venture. It was followed by Institute of Food Craft Technology (IFCT) in 2003 and Tanishk College of Education in 2005.
